About Englishtown:

Englishtown was incorporated as a borough on January 4, 1888, from portions of Manalapan Township.  During the Battle of Monmouth on June 28, 1778, Englishtown was the headquarters for the American Army. The Village Inn (located in the center of Englishtown) which was built in 1726, was headquarters for General Charles Lee who commanded the army of nearly 5,000 men.

Since July of 1965, Raceway Park, the premier New Jersey motorsports park, has represented the ultimate in speed, power, and performance for top drivers, racing teams, and racing enthusiasts the world over.  When the country’s top racing professionals and race fans think of historic Englishtown, NJ Raceway Park naturally springs to mind.
