Loch Arbour is a Village located along the Atlantic Ocean in eastern Monmouth County, New Jersey. Situated on Deal Lake between Allenhurst and Asbury Park, Loch Arbour was part of Ocean Township until 1957. At only two blocks wide and five blocks long, Loch Arbour is the smallest town in Monmouth County, and the only “village”. The name “Loch Arbour” comes from “Loch” meaning “Lake” and “Arbour” meaning “Trees”. It’s streets are lined with beautiful trees and stately beach houses.
Loch Arbour Village is part of the Ocean Township School District, a consolidated public school district serving students in grades K - 12 in both Loch Arbour and Ocean Township. Children attend the Wanamassa School, Ocean Township Intermediate School and Ocean Township High School.
As of the census of 2000, there were 280 people, 120 households, and 77 families residing in the village. The population density was 2,894.0 people per square mile (1,081.1/km2). There were 156 housing units at an average density of 1,612.4/sq mi (602.3/km2). There were 120 households out of which 20.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them.
